People. Moments. The traces we leave.

In Alta Langa

Hills, piazzas, open doors.
Stories from small villages.

Alta Langa begins with a bondì.

Not with a landmark. But with a morning.

With a narrow road winding between the hills. With a bell tower that can be seen long before the village appears. With a piazza where, in the morning, people talk more than they hurry.

The coffee grinder crushes the first beans. The woman behind the bar places cups on the counter. Outside, the first neighbour greets someone with a quiet bondì.

It does not take much. An espresso. A view across the hills. And the wind moving through the hazelnut trees.

From moments like these, a landscape begins to appear.

Place by place, an image takes shape.

The Langaroli rarely describe their home in grand words. They tell it through everyday life. They talk about the weather, the harvest, last year's wine or the neighbour who has finally returned to sit in the piazza.

These are the moments that remain.

In Alta Langa gathers small fragments: a village, an osteria, a bar, a church, a shop, a bench in the shade, a door left open.

Only many of these stories form an image. Like stones in a mosaic. Small on their own, together they tell of a landscape where people have lived, worked and left memories for generations.

Every place changes this image a little.

With every visit, another stone is added.
Perhaps that is why it will never be finished.
Perhaps it is already waiting beyond the next bend.
